Overclocking does not damage a computer. You will either get a blue screen of death if it is unstable or a downclock in speed. Overvolting & Extreme heat (80*C+ for a long period) however does shorten the life span of a CPU, if set too high like from example. 1.24v to 1.4-1.5v it may damage the cpu.
